Where Were You?

Saturday 30th January 2010 | Martin Williams

It seems certain individuals in the senior squad at the moment either don't have the bottle to fight to keep Llangennech in the Second Division, or simply aren't concerned whether the club suffers relegation.

Manager Simon Davies was forced to make six changes from the previous week, taking an almost unrecognisable Llangennech side to Trimsaran for what was unarguably our biggest game of the season so far.

Bottom of the league and facing one of the teams only one point ahead of them, a win for Llangennech could have kick started their season.

It was a blessing today that our Reserve team match was postponed or things could have turned out much worse.

It's totally acceptable that some players get injured from time to time and I can also have no arguments with those players that had work committments today.

However when you have three first team players going to watch snooker instead of playing in such a big game you have to question their committment.  What must be even more frustrating for Simon is players not even letting him know that they're unavailable.  Do we really have any hope if this is the attitude of some of our "key" players?

Final score: Trimsaran 5 Llangennech 2

Team:  Martin Williams, Adam Edwards, Antony Lewis, Dean Williams, Michael O'Mara, Tom Harris, Rhys Wakely, Darren Dickeson, David Lewis, Keiran Price, Curtis Roberts.  Subs:  Gary Thomas and Shaun Dean.

Scorers:  Curtis Roberts and an own goal.
