Vision Of The Future

The village of Llangennech is one of the largest in Carmarthenshire at 4.7 square miles, yet in the whole of the Carmarthenshire League we are the only village side without its own footballing facilities.

We as a committee are determined that we get for the people of the village not only a football field but also modern changing room facilities that will equal any in the area.

The club is currently negotiating the lease of land to the west of the village, on the border with Bryn.  Here we hope to erect two football pitches with ample car parking and modern changing room facilities to go with it.

Working together with the community and borough councils we are negotiating to obtain grants that will cover most of the building and development costs.

These new pitches will, when completed prove pivotal in our aim to create junior sides in the village right through the age groups.  There is huge potential for junior football in the village with around 1000 under 16’s living in the area.

At the present time we are restricted by the facilities at Llangennech Park.  The state of the pitch is not attractive to potential players, whilst the one pitch limits the number of junior sides (under 12’s to under 16’s) the club can run within the village at two.

Recently the club was delighted to receive a steel storage container from Llangennech Community Council allowing the club to keep all of it's equipment in one place.

Four years ago the club launched its new Official website.  The idea was that it would prove a valuable source of information on the club and make it more attractive to potential players and sponsors as well as keeping current members up to date on goings on at the club.

It is the belief of the committee that the path laid down in this article will take the club on a journey to excellence and see it become one of the major forces in Carmarthenshire League Football in the not so distant future.
